What is a low purine diet?
Purines are organic compounds that break down into a waste substance called uric acid. Kidney filter the uric acid and remove it from the body.
When level of uric acid exceeds the amount that body can process, it forms crystals in the blood. This can cause Gout, kidney stones and other issues.
A low purines diet helps to minimize the number of purines in the body and reduce the amount of uric acid in blood.
